Building History

In May 1929, J. Ralph Lee, Mary Lee, and Irma Lee bought two lots on 4th and Oak.

F.H. Strong constructed the building know as Colorado Steam Laundry which opened August 1, 1929. The laundry was in business until the late 1960's.

In 2014 Colorado Steam Laundry was brought back to life as The Copper Press: A Unique Event Venue in a historical building for the events of your life by Robert & Cherry Hoback.

In June 2026 The Copper Press was acquired by Trev & Casie Larson, marking a new chapter in the venue's history. The Larsons are dedicated to honoring the venues legacy while thoughtfully investing in its future for generations to come.
